Eric, your garden is SO beautiful! I love the design in the front with the beautiful arch and the soft colors of the plantings. You've done a wonderful job with draping MIP on the railing, and the roses you've chosen are exquisite.

These are fantastic photos, it is so nice to see the gardens of those who have been doing this for a while. None of my neighbors garden or have roses, it is always an inspiration to see mature roses and full garden shots. I've never seen Village Maid before, it is so pretty! Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks for the nice comments. I love this time of year. Each day brings a new a rose beginning to bloom.

I do have to make a correction. The rose I labeled as Indigo is actually Yolande de Aragon! ...and it smells amazing

Nice Eric...I like how you maximized the limited space in front with roses haha...makes it seem more grand. How big does your Gertrude get in Cincy?

Thanks again, it make feel I'm doing something right :)

Jeff, my Gertie gets about 8 to 10 feet tall, if I'd let her. You have to prune her pretty harshly to get good repeat. She's got some wicked thorns.

Thanks Florence :)

your garden is SO beautiful! I love how everything is growing together. What are the tall purplish plants in the first photo? Are they nepeta?

Dear Eric,
OOOhhh how lovely your garden Blooms!!! I live in Victoria on Vancouver Island and have just bought my first rose bush - Gruss An Aachen. I see you have one and your roses are truly spectacular. could you give me a few tips? Would you please recommend your favorite rose gardening book for good tips on growing them? Would half day or full day sun be best for this species? Do you add coffee grounds to your rose beds? I adore roses and I have shyed away from them for a long time because I've heard they can be hard to grow. I've only been gardening for the past 6 years although an avid gardener I am still a beginner. Any tips would be so very much appreciated!
Thank you for posting your fabulous photos!!!
Sincerely,
Margot

Eric, your garden is even more magical now that I'm seeing it the second time, and your choice of roses is inspired. You've created a dream of a garden and should be very proud.
