Marchesa Boccella

I have been disappointed in Marchesa Bocella and last year announced to my wife that I was considering taking her out.

Here a picture I took this afternoon. I had a hard time getting it to show the real color of pink. Every shot seems a little washed out. But you can see how covered she is in blooms.

Here is close up that shows the pink a lot better.

Marchesa Boccella

Maybe she just needed to be threatened.

Well, she must have overheard, that is a spring flush with a vengeance :)

She is so very pretty. I vote she stays in your garden, Jeff.

I always loved the name AND the flower AND the scent. She's so lovely in your garden. You MUST have done something right besides threaten her.

Very beautiful!!! What a flush! I'd like to add her to my garden...so how many years does it take to get her to perform like that?

Since you were thinking of SP'ing her, does she do better on neglect, or did you give her her last rights and meal of choice before the execution?

I can just see Jeff as the irrate gardener putting on the gloves, with shovel in hand, on the angry walk to MB.....then turning the corner and seeing the rose and saying "DOH!!!" and hiding the shovel somewhere. haha

Thanks to your beautiful pictures, I brought yet another rose home from the Antique Rose Festival today!

I fell HARD after that second picture.

BEAUTIFUL!

I agree with Zeffy. The Marchessa has earned a reprieve.

Ah, the ol' shovel trick works every time. It is beautiful and I imagine smells even better than it looks.
