I really like Rêve d'Or close up shot, love that shining of the rose petals.

For a 2 year old, he is a big baby. :D

Haha, I see Charles Darwin's big bloom claim is working against him at the moment. Your own-root is looking healthy and growing out nicely. I'll be interested to see how large it becomes by the end of the year...oh wait...you are in Cali...there is no end of the year haha.

Your camera did a good job capturing all the great little details of SDLM rouge.

your Rêve d'Or is the prettiest I've seen. :D

Love your Sdlm Rouge :) Hope I can get one sometime!

Very lovely pics, Ingrid. Your Reve d'Or is really growing beautifully!

Do you find the fragrance of Yves Piaget to be lemony, or old rose? I've read varying descriptions of the fragrance. It's an interesting rose.

Ingrid, love all the shots esp Yves Piaget and his drenched ruffles. Can you tell me how far from the wall (how many feet away) have you planted your Reve d'Or?

RE: A Few From Today

Thank you for the nice compliments everyone. Yves Piaget is becoming one of my favorites although when I took the picture the blooms were past their prime. Krista, I'm afraid I can't tell you much about the fragrance. These are the first blooms this year and it's been rainy and cool and I couldn't detect much scent at all. I'll get back to you when new blooms come out. It's much warmer now so there should be a fragrance. lovemysheltie, Reve d'Or is planted in a very narrow bed and is probably no more than a foot from the wall, at the most. How this will work out on the long run remains to be seen. I'm afraid it will need quite a bit of pruning after a few years.
