I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new Young Lycidas rose. Love pink and violet and purple in the garden. How shall I bear all the joy they give me? :)

Just bear it, just bear it. And when you can’t bear the beauty any longer, send some my way. You must be a very good garden mommy, as your YL is very healthy and happy. Mine is about to call Child Protective Services or run away from home soon. Audrey

Juliet those are wonderful!

Interesting...does Young Lycidas typically have this 2-tone appearance for you? I was stumbling across another lesser known Austin yesterday, Warwick Castle, that occasionally has a similar effect of 2-tone gradulation and it was quite pleasing to the eye, much like your Young Lycidas.
Here is a link that might be useful: Warwick Castle

Thank you Pam, Audrey, Hamp and Nick. Nick, yes YL has a variation of color on it's blooms. Magenta and Purple, with a shade of lavender on the reverse. Juliet

Very pretty. I love the color and how it's packed with petals. How's the fragrance and rebloom? Thanks for sharing your pictures.

Thanks also to Florence, Christina and Jeff for your kindness. Jeff, it's fragrance wafts in my garden. It is strong, rather clove at times and very fresh and tea-like other times. It hasn't stopped blooming since it started a few weeks ago. Clusters of eight blooms too. LOVE IT! Juliet
