Sangerhausen as a garden

One of the things I really liked about the garden was the beautiful collection of mature trees, some of them (we were told) quite rare. I really like growing roses in a setting with trees.

And I had to finish up with another street scene of the town. This is a picture of the Ratskeller, the place I recommend that visitors go to eat. The restaurant is located in a vaulted stone chamber, really stunning. And yes, the food is good.

I LOVE the garden pictures and I also love trees---can't beat that combination---I think the trees soften the area with the cool backdrops
Love the town picture

Thank you for sharing these. I love visiting great gardens with mature trees. So different from city trees that have been cut hard over the years. What an elegant and restful space. And the view of the street is fun as well. Please add more pictures if you have them.

The trees are really stunning. I don't understand why they renew the roses every three years, though. A lot of them haven't really reached maturity during that time. It makes me think of how the Sacramento Cemetery rose garden benefits by having large to huge roses which are spectacular, and surely that would also be the case here. Still, these views are very pretty.
