Thanks to Marji for photos. How's your Alchymist looking?

The buds on this rose are so incredibly beautiful with the pink edging, as though someone had carefully painted them. In my own garden I don't have roses with this color, but I've always admired Alchymist because it's just a spectacular rose.

Beautiful just beautiful.
This spring my better half accidentally weed wacked a cl Joseph's Coat. Well it wasnt exactly accidental. He planned to cut it back but he had a new weed wacker with a steel blade. Well you get the idea. I wasnt too upset. While I liked the colors the intensity was a bit too strong for its location. Looks to me that your Alchymist will be a stunning replacement.
So thankyou for helping me.

Sorry I've taken so long to respond to all your wonderful comments. This is really the defining rose in our garden even though I never planned such a thing. It's just so graciously colorful, large, well-shaped blooms, and prolific that it dominates the more delicate treasures nearby. Jeannie, you're making a great choice to bring it into your garden as the colors are never better than here in the PNW. We happily gave up a Joseph's Coat some years ago and this was actually a replacement (within my subtle color scheme) for the warm colors that Marji loves and photographs so beautifully.
