Happily, there's still some color in the garden after the spring flush, with the day lilies helping matters along.

There is still alot going on in your garden. It looks beautiful. When I saw the photo of your husband I was thinking how nice a thread with photos of people's spouses in their gardens might be. My poor old camera died the other day. It's the worst time, full bloom.

Your garden is very cheerful and summery, Ingrid, with the daylilies and roses. Clair Matin is doing very well.

Your hubby is sweet to help you, that's wonderful for both of you to share the garden.

I'm glad to see the faces behind the gardeners. :)

So are you keeping your Clair Matin, then? She looks very cheerful there!

Love that single sea mist all entwined in everything.

Your garden looks beautiful and healthy. What is the big rose in the second picture next to the urn?

Ingrid, I envy you a little that you still have so many roses blooming in your beautiful garden! I love your Bishop's Castle. My own yard looks very plain and boring right now :-(. Almost all my roses are taking a break between flushes. I guess I could take your garden as an example and plant more companion plants. That certainly would help. You and your husband did such a great job in creating your yard.

By the way, I really like the portrait of your husband!

Here is my DH putting in three posts that are completely hidden now by the roses he is always willing to dig or build arbors-----

You can still see the top of one of the posts----LOL

Thank you everyone. Pam, I was just recently thinking along the same lines as you about featuring the "other party" behind the gardens. Maybe I just wanted to see some "eye candy"! Krista and Aimee, I'm still not sure about keeping Clair Matin since as you can see it's not in the least pink, but definitely salmon. It seems like a very healthy rose though and I'm not in a hurry to give it away.

Kristin, the rose I think you mean is Mutabilis, one of my favorite roses. That's one rose at least that is almost constantly in bloom.

Christina, by now Bishop's Castle looks a bit fried and has very few blooms. With the heat of the last few days the garden is not as fresh-looking. I'm sure you'll have blooms again soon; the roses just need a little time.

Florence, your husband looks like quite a worker, and your garden looks just gorgeous. I can't wait for mine to become more mature so I can see such huge bushes in bloom.

For me your Clair Matin still looks pink-ish, but of course in reality it may look totally different and just clash with other colors. But wouldn't it look good somewhere is the same area with your Reve d'Or?

Here are mine "helper cats", the younger one already volunteers to water... erhm... drown the garden. ;)

elemire, thank you for the great picture. Lucky you, you have two helpers!

You're right, Clair does look a bit pinkish in the picture but alas not in real life. Unfortunately, no room near Reve d'Or, but how nice of you to remember that I have that rose.

Oh yeah, especially the young one is eager to help me re-design the garden. :) But DH builds all the wood structures, paths, helps with moving big things and so on. And is not shocked by the bills for the plant purchases. :)))

I remember your Reve d'Or lovely pictures a while back. :) I have similar issue with my Etoile d'Hollande which is a bit of violet-red and just does not look right with yellow-peach roses, so I have hard time finding a right spot for her. But if your Clair Matin is healthy and does well in your climate, maybe it is worth to have some corner of peachy-salmony roses, unless you do not like that color range at all?

Your garden looks great, Ingrid! Your husband must have done a great job digging all those holes:-).

Elemire, your baby is sooooo cute! I miss that age so badly, my kids are 8 and 5 and I don't know even remember them as babies any more:-(

Ingrid, Bishop's Castle and Sea Mist look wonderful.

I can tell you like the artistic and sweet type of guy. Your husband looks like a distinguished, kind, free soul. Your lucky to have such a gem of a man to help you in the garden. :)

I am currently dating this guy, but he hasn't become a garden helper yet. He is the beach type.

Juliet, I just now came across the picture of beautiful you with your handsome date. Very nice....you'll have to keep us updated.

Thank you for the lovely comments about my husband. He has a tougher side to him too, which is fortunate given what he's been through in his life. Although he's not a gardener, I'm happy to see that he's enjoying our garden more and more.
