Garden people

rosefolly

It's been a while (unless I missed something) since we've posted pictures of ourselves. Since so many real world friendships have developed from this forum, it is a nice thing to do from time to time. That way when we meet at a rose conference or garden, we actually recognize each other. Any interest? I'll go first.

James, oh I mean, Randy, do you by any chance date married women?

TwoHuskies, we've probably seen each other at a restaurant or something on one of my trips to MN.

Yeh, Joe, I had a rough day that day. That's why I'm always on the lookout for a good thornless rose.

    Ingrid, that's the best kind!

Melva, next time you have a rose party ... I'll be there :-)

This is a terrific idea. Everyone looks great. Especially Randy!

Here I am with my husband Miles. We're just a pair of old California hippies at heart.

What a gorgeous group! We had visitors yesterday - Sherri Berglund, Judy Eitzen, and their friend Margaret. Here we are raising a glass to Marji, the erstwhile photographer:

I take most of the photos, so there are a lot of pix of DH, and none to speak of of me. But here we are, albeit a bit formally, with Miss Brisa.

And, I may say -- SO THAT'S WHY SHERRI AND JUDY AREN'T AROUND TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS!

It is really good to be able to put faces with all of you, many of whom I've known for years, but never seen before.

I'm another one who is always behind the camera, and have probably a dozen pix of myself among the thousands of photos of roses and people in my files. Here I am with my newest great-nephew, Bradley (no grandkids yet, but love being a great-aunt).

Hey all. I'm not sure most of you would consider me a "regular" on the forum since I learn way more from coming here than I am able to contribute. Anyway, I count myself as fortunate to have found this place and am glad to get to know you.

I don't have a picture of myself in my garden--there, I'm the one behind the camera, too. So I've got a picture of me doing something else I really enjoy. (t's a 5 pound bass I caught with a fly rod--a great fishing day).

I'm rather new here, but I will join in. I am a bit shy about sharing photo's, but it's nice to meet all of you. Although, my flowers are a nicer subject than myself to me.

I'm another one who is rarely on the other side of a camera. Lots of photos of family and flowers, but very few of me. Here's one taken of my husband and me yesterday at my daughter's wedding.

Well, apparently I must avoid the camera because after looking at AT LEAST a thousand family pictures on the computer, I could hardly find any with me in the shot. (Randy, I did find one of me in Panama City from a couple of years ago!!!)

So I had my husband take a picture this morning.....here I am squinting and sweating like crazy at 8:30 a.m.:

I don't know about oldest, but certainly a great looking couple, Florence! Love the earrings.

Here's one of me that I cropped from Dear Son's wedding photos - could it be 2 years ago already? Like many of you, I'm usually taking the shots and not the subject and it was hard to find a photo of myself to post. (Oh, and I've since let my hair go to its natural grayish-faded brown, so don't look for a redhead if you're looking for me, LOL!)

I'm so delighted to see all the pictures, especially those of people I've never met in person.

And you know how people never look the way you picture them? I have just seen the exception who proves the rule. Zeffy, you look exactly as I picture you in my mind's eye! Must be a kind of Pennsylvania thing.

Paula-----that is so funny that you pictured me like the picture---I usually form totally different pictures of people in my mind-----and then I'm shocked when I see a picture-

Annececilia------I'm happy you like the earings----Bob could have sold some at the parade---they were perfect for a Patriotic parade---LOL--sure would not wear them anywhere else----and I do think I am the oldest here---will be 80 in Nov.
where oh where did those years go---

We sure have a bunch of great looking people here on the Forum.

It is so nice to put faces to all of the posts! I love the family shots too, so happy.

    Florence,
I would hope I looks so good at 80!

    Randy,
No need for a fake pic, you are a good looking guy : )

    Joe,
You don't look like a crab! You've got the eyes of a wise man.

    F.L.,
    Lol!

Ok, I had my Gary take a pic of me sitting in the arbor under Leontine Gervais since I realized I have none of me out in the garden. Of course I look like I've been out working in the garden for awhile, and my hair is hidden, oh well, lol.

masha, your picture is absolutely adorable, a really happy and beautiful scene. Seeing everybody (well almost everybody, iowa-jade!) has been an absolute delight. Florence, your grandson is a hunk! Those windows in your room are awesome, and I'm sure the view is too, with all your roses. I hope this thread goes on and on.

Sherry, I was so glad to see a picture of you. You look so nice and just as sweet as I thought you'd be judging by your posts that are always so friendly and fun. It really is great seeing everyone.

    Ingrid

  • sherryocala

Ingrid, you're sweet as always. I wasn't going to post one at first, but then so many were introducing themselves to us and enjoying meeting each other that I thought I would. I remembered your lovely photo from before, so I feel like I could have recognized you on the street or in the grocery store if I saw you, but probably would be asking myself "Where do I know her from?" I'm terrible at connecting faces and names. It's really embarrassing. I'm going to save this post to refer to. It does help, I think, to have a face to think about when we read a post.

It's good to know I come across gently in my posts. Sometimes words have a way of coming out differently "on paper" than when spoken. I've had to think about more diplomatic ways of saying things since being on this Forum - which is a good thing. And smiley faces help, too. It really does come down to helping each other on matters that sometimes SEEM like life and death issues. I'm thankful for the ones among us who have the experience and willingness to share. And, of course, I love your garden photos as well as everyone else's. You're always so helpful and eager to share. I appreciate you very much.

I am late, by here's a photo of me with my hubby, Jim.
We rarely get dressed up and are usually in jeans working
in the yard....we clean up o.k.
This was taken over the weekend at my niece's wedding.
And a photo with my 86-yr. old Mom and Dad. A lot of
you know that I take care of Mom who has Alzheimer's.
My parents are cuties...lol. Between DH and I we have

I have a great friend who lives in Houston but was in town here for the 4th. Normally I run from cameras, but someone snapped a picture of us. I just did the math. We met as juniors in high school 24 years ago and have been best friends ever since. Isn't she pretty? All tan and glowing. I'm the goofy-looking pale male to the left by the way.
