I came across these two in Rosarium in Winschoten, Netherlands.

Flora McIvor by Lord Penzance (United Kingdom, 1895). Hybrid Rubiginosa.

Dupontii, Gallica / Provins, Hybrid Moschata

They both are really nice, very healthy and nicely growing in half shade. It was very hot and dry here last few weeks, but they did not seem to notice, as you may see, sending plenty of new shots.

Also in same border there was Austin's Shropshire Lass (do not confuse with Sh. Lad), which had surprisingly nice habit as well.

These are very pretty. There's a lot to be said for roses that have that wild look, even though they may be hybrids. They just have a different feeling to them and it makes me wish I had one in my garden. Bermuda's Kathleen and Lavender Dream are the closest I've come, and I suppose Mutabilis, but they're still not quite right.

Thank you for the introduction to these lovely and unique roses. I love the color of Flora McIvor.
