Some blooms from my baby roses over the past week or two.

Grandmother's Hat, LOVE IT LOVE IT

one of my babies, Duftendes Weisskirchen, from Eurodesertroses

La France cl,
I was on the fence about it, but now that I've seen it bloom and how fast it's been growing, I really like it. I really like that the back of the petals (the reverse) is a darker pink.

Another winner...
La Reine!
You can see pictures of roses online... but it's just different seeing them in person. But how GORGEOUS is this rose. I LOVE IT! Thanks for the recommendation, Jeri!

Here's what the same roses look like a couple days later:

Mme Berard
I planted this one near my a/c and guest bedroom. It's a climber, so I'm hoping to train it up near the guest bedroom window. :) I love it, too! Thanks to Masha!

Another free mystery rose... this time, thankfully, not a red one. I really like this one actually. I don't have many singles and the red interior is really charming.

They're all lovely, but that white mystery rose is just a delight!

after looking at RogueValley's site (which is where it came from) I think it might be White Wings? That's the only single white I see there with pictures anyway which has that rose-colored center.

What exciting roses you got, aimee! I am glad you like Mme Berard.

MNN yummy and the fragrance of La France is one of the best there is. In the cooler weather here the color intensity on the reverse is quite pronounced.

Aimee, every single one of your roses is beautiful. I think La France is my favorite but it's a close call. I have Grandmother's Hat but it doesn't like the heat here (an awful lot of roses don't), and I'm just hoping that will improve when it's more mature. Thanks for posting your beautiful babies. It's so exciting to see the first blooms, isn't it?

Beautiful blooms! I love your choices.

Where did you get La Reine from?

Thanks so much you guys! I was very excited to show ya'll. :) :)

I really liked the fragrance of La France and Grandmother's Hat.

I did have a bloom on Penelope, too,,... but no strong scent. I'm hoping more so as it matures because I love how it smelled at Descanso and it's listed online as having a strong smell.

Maman Cochet Cl. and Baronne Prevost are going to bloom next. I keep staring at the little buds. D:

ndkk- I got my La Reine from Antique Rose Emporium :)

Spectacular pics. I love La Reine, one of my favorite Hybrid Perpetuals.

Lovely babies Aimee! How is your Sombreuil doing, I believe yours and mine are of the same age. :D

I like your La France, it is so lovely when the petal sides differ in color! Mme. Berard looks lovely too, I am slowly getting convinced to get her after all. :D

About Penelope's fragrance, some of my musks are sneaky and produce fragrance during the night/morning - today I went out early in the morning and my Paul's Himalayan Musk was secretly scenting all parking lot! And now in the end of the day he had almost no fragrance at all.

aw, thanks! my Sombreuil is from DA. It's looking very bushy and healthy, but no more blooms for a while! Which is too bad, because I adore it! I'm sure it's just busy growing or something. :)

Mme. Berard,... it's very beautiful online, but there's something very soft and lush about it in person. :)

Thanks regarding Penelope! I'm not too worried. It's only had two little blooms on it (I picked off the rest) so I'll just let it do it's thing and see what happens next year.

Very pretty all of them!

Watch out for Rust on 'La Reine'. I love mine, but it's a ruster.

My Sombreuil did not rebloom either yet, but he is growing really well, main cane is about 5' by now I think.

I can believe that Mme. Berard is very nice in person, that seems to be the case with a few other teas from the same period.

Your mystery rose looks to me like Ellen Wilmott. I grow White Wings. The distinguishing feature of that rose is the huge size of the blooms -- 5 inches plus. Ellen Wilmott is more normal sized, as single roses go -- around 3 to 4 inches across, max.

Ellen Willmott has some color though, while my rose seems like it's pure white. at least for now, maybe later when it's more mature it will be a little different. myster bloom was pretty big... but we'll see! I'll keep Ellen Willmott in mind!
