Japanese rose gardens (lots of photos)

Hi all, I've been a long time lurker and occasional poster here on this forum. I'd like to share some pictures of some rose gardens in Japan that I visited this summer. The first few are from a garden located near Kyoto called Hieizan Garden Museum. Modeled after Monet's garden, there is a large European style walled garden with many older roses as well. The rest of the photos are from Kyoto Botanical Garden. There weren't many OGRs there, but it was still beautiful. I wonder how they do it in a land where Japanese rose beetles, Rosa multiflora, and I presume RRD are all native. Very few of the roses had tags, and those that did were mostly in Japanese. Enjoy!

Kyoto Botanical Garden; my camera was alost out of batteries by this point, so I don't have any closeups. I believe many of these roses are the product of Japanese rose breeders.

VERY interesting and beautiful! Everything looks so pristine and well-cared for. I like the background of the tall cedars with roses and then with the water with irises in the foreground. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
