A long time favorite for me ... Marie Pavie.
Fragrant, ever-blooming, compact, thornless, healthy, superb plant shape.
I really have no right to ask for anything more from Marie.

It really has all those qualities, Randy, but in my dry garden the roses look worn out all too quickly and then there's all that deadheading. Nevertheless, I'm glad I have it because of its health and vigor, and it's a good contrast to the large early hybrid tea next to it. I really like the roses with smaller blooms because they give a more natural, wild look to the garden, and there's something very endearing about their small blooms.

Ingrid, I agree with you about Marie's blooms not lasting long at all.
Nice on the morning that they open though :-)

I used to have many Marie Pavies in my old garden in South Mississippi, but I had to leave them behind. (sniff...sniff...) We rooted them all from a plant at my husband's grandparents' home in TN.It was started from a cutting by my husband's grandmother. She got it from a mother-in-law, I think. It smelled wonderful and was almost never without bloom. :)
