Your garden looks beautiful, Ingrid. I love Aunt Margy's Rose is very pretty, looks nothing like the picture in HMF. How is fragrance and rebloom? How old is your rose, and how big?

Thank you, Masha. I had to look at HMFR and agree that there is some difference. My blooms stay cupped and seem to have more petals. For me the bush is beautiful and vigorous, with lovely foliage. It seems to want to be a climber and is growing every which way. I'd say it's about five feet tall and 3-4 feet wide. It is fragrant when you hold your face close to it and rebloom is quite good, although it doesn't ever cover the bush except in spring. The blooms are not much more than an inch across. The old blooms do hang on somewhat. I would say it's been between a year and a half to two years since I acquired it as a band.

Great photos Ingrid. Thankyou for showing me how good Le Vesuve's blooms look like. Grandmother's Hat is different, what type of rose is it ?

Ingrid, your roses are blooming wonderfully!

I love the swirly shape of the Grandmother's Hat flower, Le Vesuve is very pretty and also the Aunt Margy's Rose. I think the latter is my favorite from the pictures that you have posted this time!

May I ask, what is the name of the yellow rose in the still life?

Thanks for sharing your beauties, I really enjoyed looking at them!

Thank you, Ingrid, for your detailed description of Aunt Margy's Rose. I was hoping it would be a little smaller:-). I am glad it is doing well for you.

Thank you kindly everyone.

Rosemeadow, Grandmother's Hat is a mystery rose that was found in California. It's a Hybrid Perpetual which does very well in the heat, is very fragrant and a very good rebloomer. Quite a few people have been "enabled" to buy this rose, especially by Jeri Jenning's beautiful pictures. Mine is still quite young and I expect great things from it.

Florence, I wish you could be here to see my roses now that yours are at the end of their bloom cycle. I like picturing you sitting on the deck in the warm sun and enjoying the scenery around you.

Christina, thank you so much for taking the time to post all the way from India. I hope you don't melt in the heat and humidity in Madras. I'm glad you like the roses. The one in the glass is Julia Child which is looking very pretty now in the cooler weather.

Masha, Aunt Margy's Rose is not supposed to get this large and I think is listed in the Rogue Valley web site as something like 2-3 feet. I have no idea why it's spread out so much here. In your climate it might very well stay much smaller. The flowers are actually bigger than I stated before, more like 1 1/2 to 2 inches.

Ingrid, wow, the pic of Grandmother's Hat is wonderful.

Aunt Margy's rose is charming, I really like the clusters of blooms.

Lovely still life and table. Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful pics.

Ingrid, I haven't seen a rose here in Chennai/Madras, yet (but they must be somewhere, right?!). So I had to come back to the antique gallery to get my rose fix and see yours, again ;-). They are really so lovely! Thanks for letting me know about Julia Child.

Ingrid, the roses are fab, but what enraptured me most about your photo's, is the light. There is a special warm and soft and gentle light in all the pics. I can really feel each photo here. Thank you, Ingrid. I love the "still life" set up with the pretty Chinoiserie. The serene light, soft yellow flowers and porcelain are dreamy together.
