| I'm posting 6 pictures from roses with four names at the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. One is labeled White Maman Cochet, which we think is correctly identified. One is labeled Mrs. Dudley Cross, but was labeled something else when we got it, and this ID is questioned. One is labeled 'SU #14' and was unlabeled when we were sent budwood. The fourth is labeled 'Francis Leake', a found rose. I haven't put these pictures in any particular order. Can anyone see a definite difference between any of the roses pictures, or say whether you think some are White Maman Cochet and some are Mrs. Dudley Cross?

I'm curious, too, as all of these caught my eye when I was visiting recently.

It's because you mentioned them that I decided to take a look, as well as check the notes on them. Jill

Wouldn't one way to tell be by Mrs. Dudley's absence of thorns? I've never heard it mentioned that Maman Cochet is thornless although I'm not sure about this. Ingrid

Jill, Your pictures certainly seem to show the same rose. I did wonder when i saw SU14 that it might be Francis Leake, which to me seems to look the same as MDC. However, to complicate matters, to me FL and MDC do not look like White Maman Cochet. Perhaps I am not looking at the MDC that you are thinking of. Aren't there several? Masha

I checked for thorns. Didn't find them on Mrs. Dudley Cross, SU#14 or Francis Leake. Did find them on White Maman Cochet. Jill
