| I went out into the rain-soaked yard today to snap some pictures of my window planters for my mom who unfortunately gardens only vicariously now. Well, I couldn't really restrain myself to only one picture so here is how some of my yard looks now.
Here is the window planter William Shakespeare 2000 very wet A hip and leaves just beginning to change to brilliant yellow on Purple Pavement Lady Hillingdon and its plum colored new growth Sharifa Asma Devoniensis A bud of Rosette Delizy showing very intense color And here is what is left of the blooms Yves Piaget Pat Austin blending in with a Sango Kaku maple Mexican sage seen through a weeping cherry A few blooms in the house And some early camellias Masha |

| Lovely photos, better wet with rain, than with snow. Love the colours of your window planter. |

| Really lovely shots; the window planter is just gorgeous. It was nice to see the cyclamens and what a great place to put them. I love Yves Piaget especially; mine has one solitary bud and has not yet recovered from the gopher attack. Thanks for the visual feast. Ingrid |

| Thank you. Ingrid, I didn't know your YP was attacked by gophers. I am sorry... I love cyclamen for their fragrance - they are so nice to handle when I plant them. They are also very reliable here. I have a small enclosed courtyard in front of my front door which keeps the fragrance in very well and they colonized the entire space - it smells wonderful there all winter (I have a daphne odora there too). | Masha, I love your photos as always! Your planter box is so adorable. I remember that cyclamen did so well in my garden too, when I was still living in the Bay Area, but here in San Diego I think it is a little bit too hot for them to be nice year round plants. I believe people use them as annuals here, too bad... The photos of William Shakespeare 2000 is so lush. I am so happy that I finally found him at Chamblee's growing own roots and I just ordered it on last Sunday. I never could forget the beautiful 2 William Shakepeares 2000 that you were growing flanking your driveway. Yves Piaget also looks drop dead gorgeous! Pat Austin goes so well with the yellow orange fall foliage in the back ground. Your bouquets are so pretty, as Florence does, I too love roses in glass containers. I hope they last for you over Thanksgiving. Last but not least your camellias are gorgeous. I think I have the same white variety, but mine have just set buds. Your photos are just reminding me that I have to fertilize them to help them to make these wonderful blooms. Thanks for posting! Christina |
