December Roses (And A Stray Iris)

My garden is in a rather quiet phase now, before it winds down almost completely in January to March. However, a few roses are still plugging along and creating spots of color here and there.

Bermuda Kathleen looks very charming, wonderful bright color to it. Beautiful pics, Ingrid, they remind me of summer.

That's a neat antique dog.

love your Charles Darwin in a glass, how stunning. It looks utterly perfect! And thankyou for photographing Bermuda's Kathleen (add it to HMF! there are only like 2 photos on there!) It's nice to see the semi-double form, which is what I wanted. I like the color, too. :)

Sister Elizabeth. Mmmmmm. Is the iris Daughter of Stars? Maybe Suky?

Very nice, Ingrid! You must be enjoying the cooler weather, I hope :-)

I like the last photo the best, especially the little peek of the vase.

Ingrid, I am amazed how many roses are still blooming for you!

I love, love, love Charles Darwin! The photo of the flower in the glass is so charming. I think the yellow of the rose goes so well with the light green of the Fo dog. I am really happy that I ordered CD myself and especially after seeing your pics can't wait to see flowers on mine.

Sister Elizabeth is my second favorite rose of the bunch that you posted this time. What a delicate pretty rose.

Thanks for posting!

Ingrid, is that NAIL POLISH I see on your hand?

Thank you all so much for the nice comments. I really appreciate them very much.

Aimee, I didn't realize there were so few photos of Bermuda Kathleen of HMR. I will post this one since you like it.

Guilty about the nail polish, Renee. It came about in a rather strange way though. My husband bought this polish to repaint one of the dye-cast cars that he sells on e-bay to collectors. It's a lot cheaper than the special paint they have for touching up model cars (and that silver shade is very aptly named "Pedal to the Metal".) It was sitting around and I thought I'd try this strange color. I like it!

Oh, I forgot to mention, I'm afraid I don't know the name of the iris. It's known as "the pretty purple iris growing next to Burgundy Iceberg". I know, a hundred lashes for my poor record keeping. Roses I do keep track of, everything else is on its own.
