I stumbled upon a thread where people on the New England forum were showing their landscapes, and wondered if anyone on this forum would be interested in doing a " 2013 garden in review", as it is 2014 and we aren't going back:) Some of you, as I write this post, or recently, have fastidiously worked on improvements, changes or new additions for your garden. My garden is new or sections were partially transformed this Summer/Fall. Most of the roses were purchased as bands For now, I know that I and a few others look to you all for inspiration. If it is possible, please show the entire rose bush and or garden shots. Lynn

Absolutely glorious.

I love the idea and would welcome seeing lots of garden pictures. I won't be joining since I probably post more garden pictures than anyone else, but I greatly enjoy looking at others' garden pictures such as the one by mendocino rose above. To do her garden justice we'd probably need a few dozen, though. Ingrid

| Hoovb, The garden image that I have seen of your garden Menodcino_rose, Oh my!!! I am in awe of the beauty you created. It looks like a little slice of paradise. Ingrid, Each time you post a photographic tour of your garden, something that escaped me previously is seen. I read that you are making subtle changes to your garden and hope you will allow us to have a peek when you are done. Edit, edit, edit.....I must stop typing posts using my iPhone or while multi-tasking....geesh

Hoov, I sympathize. With five neighbours I can't avoid seeing their houses from some angle in the garden. Most have black roofs so I don't mind them much. But a very tall house on a recently divided lot almost next door has a bright red tiled roof that irritates me. I'm letting the lilac hedge grow up in front of it although the hedge is quite low on other sides. The photo shows part of the middle of my back garden.

Looking at my photos from 2013, I'm dismayed at how messy my garden looks. Every year I pledge to clean it up. Will this be the year? This photo shows the area outside my back door. Note my "rocket ship" - the tutuer that I shamelessly and poorly copied from Hoovb several years ago. (in my defense, she did post instructions). Unfortunately, a house is being built next door, very close, just beyond the line of trees, so that nice green backdrop is no more. The large shrubs are mine though.

Awesome gardens, Pam, Mariannese, Maureen!

YUM! I can't compete. But mine has been quite transformed....still in progress. Susan

I'm blown away by every one of these gardens, all of which I like better than mine, which at the moment looks awful. If we don't have adequate winter rains I'm not sure what will become of it. Marianne, I don't think I've even since this view of your garden, and it is spectacular. The formality of the rounded clipped hedges is a perfect counterpoint to the more natural appearance of the rest of the garden. hoovb, that series of pictures is great. When I saw the first one I thought it was quite pretty but, oh, when I got to the last one, pure magic! What a talent you have. Maureen, where is the messy part? All I saw was a gorgeous garden with a beautiful array of harmonious colors. A pity about the trees but I'm sure you'll find a way to work around that. We need more gardens please. Ingrid

As has been posted elsewhere on this forum, Florida Southern College has developed a new garden in the past year, designed by Stephen Scanniello. It has the look and feel of a 19th Century French garden, but also fits in with FSC's Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. It's still developing, but is becoming quite good indeed! I'll post a link to many (over 700) photos of the garden. They are in backwards chronological order, so the newest photo is first. If you want to "watch" the development of the garden as it occurred, go to the bottom of the set and work backwards/upward.
