Here is the last pic - of the new CB we just discovered today. You can see where I cut off the old cane that had tip rooted. Interestingly (to me at least, being ignorant) it has formed a sort of almost spherical crown, even though it is not grafted. Also, it managed to root under a mat of vinca - if I had tried to plant a rose there it never would have worked, I'm sure. Jackie

CB? I promise I will do my best to learn all the abbreviations by heart given enough time but I'm too new in this and too old age-wise to have picked up everything in the short time I've been lurking in this forums and in the even shorter time I've been posting.. Nik PS Which vinca is this btw? Its leaves look too narrow for the vincas I know. PS2 By reading your other posts I now realise CB stands for Cecille

Sorry about that Nik. It's become sort of shorthand to use the initials for the rose in question. In this case, CB would be for Cecile Brunner, the subject of the group of posts about this adventure. In another one, people were talking of Zephirine Drouhin, which I referred to as ZD. The vinca appears to be vinca minor. Kim

Yes I realised this by reading the other posts. Hadn't realised at first they were related. I posted in one of the others what I think about agrobacterium infections. Nik

Yes, I did mean Cecile Brunner, and that is vinca minor. Jackie
