Is Nehema thornless? HMF does not mention it.

There are comments about Nahema on Help Me Find that plants without prickles have been received, as well as some with quite a few prickles. If you desire the rose, just get it. No matter how it is when received, it's sure to change with time. No, it is not considered a "thornless rose". Kim

What Kim said. Thornless or almost thornless is one of those things, I've found, that varies widely with who is looking at the rose, and you just have to see for yourself. I just received Queen Anne, which David Austin's catalog described as "low on thorns." It looks to have a good number of thorns to me. But since DA has put out many viciously thorny roses, maybe Queen Anne looks low on thorns in comparison.

Nahema is a great rose with beautiful strong fragrance. I wish i haven't got rid of her in the first place.

I heard Jeff Cool of cool roses say that it remains leafy bottom to top and blooms bottom to top here in Florida. He sprays but I am hoping for a replacement for the very diseased Papa Delbard. Must have apricots with heavy scent. Thanks to all.

Just went outside to have a look at my Nahema. It's got thorns, but not an overwhelming number. It's easy enough to handle without gloves. My own-root specimen grows like a weed, strikes easily from cuttings and is largely black-spot resistant.
