Rose Work Day, Hollywood Cemetery, March 15, Richmond, Virginia

If you are local, or plan to be in the Richmond area, we would love to have you volunteer to give us a hand. I promise that you will have a good time, learn a few things, and meet some other rose lovers who feel the same way you do. Folks with all levels of rose experience are welcome. No OGR experience, no problem ... we will teach you what to do.

Last year's work day was a huge success ... making every bit of my days and days of preparation worthwhile. This year, with the 130+ roses located and mapped and in fairly decent condition, only a day or two of on-site preparation should be necessary ahead of time.

Feel free to share this, to spread the word. More hands make lighter work, and more fun!!

Connie if I were closer...in a heartbeat.
Did I ever tell you that your beautiful blog was the enabler that got me growing Ramblers? Thank you.

Connie, you know I am too far away, but I wish you a splendid work day.

To those who have never gone on a rose work day, you cannot imagine more fun for free. I go to the ones at Vintage, but I hear the same thing from people who go to the ones at the Sacramento Cemetery Garden, and also from various work days Stephen Scanniello has held. Connie posted wonderful pictures from her previous one. You can find such work days at public or semi-public rose collections in various parts of the country. When someone is holding one within traveling distance of you, you owe it to yourself pack a lunch (or a pot luck dish, if that is how it is done) and get yourself to the event.

You will be so glad you did.
