Q-R repeats what he's read. That's how he declares that the first noisette is a once bloomer. (A comment first made by GS Thomas...at least I haven't found it earlier than GST's) Your pix look a lot like two Tausendschoens that I know. One is mine which is a found rose (I can trace it back to the woman who bought it) and ours have the same number of petals, except that mine is a lighter pink even though I grow it in two different soils and sun exposures. Mine do repeat some in the fall. Another Tausendschoen is about four miles from my house and is in half day shade with a downspout watering it when it rains. Hers is more like yours in color and hers tends to go up more than mine (mine has a branching pattern very reminiscent of R. multiflora.)

Hi Ann, "Q-R repeats what he's read." Hahaha, that brings back memories from the HRF forum! Thank you for the info, mine also tends to go up-so far, but it is a young plant. I wonder how many different 'Tausendschon' plants are out there! Alida

This is Echo (Baby Tausendschon) from RVR. I took this picture in my front garden, last summer :)

I have Jasmina and your pic of tausendschon reminds me of her. I just reviewed the pics at helpmefind and note that they show light, dark, semi-double, and full double. You might be right that there are many versions of one rose. I suspect that that happens more than we think. Whatever it is, the blossoms are beautiful. I had planned to purchase Tauscendschon and didnt as it looks similar to Jasmina... Jeannie

Your picture of Echo brought back a memory of comments made at a Rose Day somewhere over ten years ago. (How's that for definite?) The comment was that a lot of repeat blooming polyanthas were the sports of once blooming climbers that were introduced at the start of the 20th century. And that Echo was such a sport of Tausendschoen.
