Nuclear Winter

We had a pretty nasty ice storm on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's been in the twenties a few times too many this winter and the garden looks like we caught a bomb. My DH has decided he doesn't like it to look like that and wants me to remove the orchid tree. It will be replaced with roses of course! He actually gave me the credit card and told me to spend what I wanted, so long as I don't buy tropicals. Wheee! I have a Lady of Shalott (I love that poem), two Darcey Bussells and a Tranquility coming soon.

When there's nothing left, there's always pansies.

I think your yard looks pretty good, Evenie, and I love the pretty pansies. It really looks like nuclear winter around here, and then Tuesday, we'll get the arctic blast you guys said goodbye to just a little while ago. Will it never end? Stay warm, and I hope you enjoy your new roses. Diane

I'd be thrilled if my yard looked so good! Of course I'd also be thrilled if someone gave me carte blanche to buy roses, lol! Can't wait to see it in bloom!

I got the credit card because he was being a back-seat gardener. But yes, it is true love.
