| Okay..something is happening. Last year I was in love with Orange, Yellow..Pink-Orange blends. This year it's pink! I am starting to appreciate these antique roses..and these wonderful colors. I get this thread now. I didn't before |

There are so many shades of pink, from the barest hint of blush on a white rose, to the richest, deepest crimson. Add to this, all the many shadings within the petals, and the changing colours as the rose matures and then fades. Also the differences, from the fine translucence of the single roses to the opulence of the cabbage roses. There are pink roses that remind me of stained glass windows. There are others that remind me of blowsy full bosomed bar maids. But, there is one thing that old-fashioned pink roses have in common. None of them have a harsh or garish hue. They all, from the palest to the richest shade, are beautiful. Daisy |

| Welcome to the pink rose lovers club! I can't put my finger on why, but I find that my pink roses tend to be healthier, bloom better and are less attractive to insects than the other colors. The most fragrant of my roses are pink. And the ones that continue to bloom and look good throughout our hot summers are for the most part my pinks. Maybe partly due to the extensive hybridizing that it took to develope some of the more unusual colors left them weaker than the garden variety pinks. I started out wanting any color except pink, now I prefer them and the wide pallet that encompasses the color. |

| I know what you mean. I too started out saying no pink! And look at me now, every rose I have ordered for this season is pink. |

| When I became interested in roses, a wise rosarian told me that "roses are pink and white and bloom on May 31". I was a bit discouraged at the time but those words have become my motto. |

| I find that this old Damask rose I have is the most wonderful smelling, awesome pink I have ever had the pleasure to smell and see. I have shared it this winter with 3 people by way of cutting, and I hope they enjoy it as much as I have. |

If you grow OGRs (at least warm climate ones), ya gotta like pink. Last year when I was buying, I started noticing how pink they all were, saying "I have that pink - several, in fact." Pale to medium pink predominates in teas, so I started looking for darker pinks and got those. I can't do everything baby pink. I like to throw some zingers in the mix. Enchantress, Souv de Francois Gaulain & Mrs B R Cant are the closest I can come to Tuscany Superb. Sherry |
