rootstock for pots

Hi forum,

The confirmation for my first online rose order has just come through. I have ordered some Chinas (comtesse du cayla, hermosa, Archiduc Charles, Cramoisi Superieur) and a tea x (Tipsy Imperial Concubine) grafted on multiflora rootstock.
Locally we are advised only to plant roses grown on fortuniana because it thrives in our deep, sandy soils. But will multiflora be ok for pots? I will use potting soil formulated for roses, but was curious if I should bury the graft or just trust the rootstock to do the job in a pot.

Thanks,
Adam
