(I couldn't e-mail)
Weren't you looking for Blackfoot daisy last fall? It's starting to show up again locally--$2.95 for a 4" round pot, $6 for gallons. If you'd like me to pick some up for you I'll be happy to.

(maybe it was horehound you wanted? that grows in our yard, for free :-p)

Hi bluegirl
I hope you don't mind me nosing in on this. But where do you get the blackfoot daisies? I live in the Ft Worth area and would happily drive to any nursery to get some. I'm actively getting rid of my lawn bit by bit and I'm looking for some natives. Thanks so much.

Hi Shops,
I'm in a small town nw of SA but we have a couple of good local nurseries. Mostly, they stock natives in gallons & they run from $6-$8. But in the spring planting season they often have more affordable pots.

Plus, I plan to go nursery-hopping in Austin after this chilly week. The Natural Gardener has a great selection & *someone* coughJoshcough, told me that Barton Creek is wonderful, too :) Surely DFW has something similar.

But if you want, e-mail me sometime in the next week-10 days. It shouldn't cost much to bare-root some & mail out.
I have lots of native 4-nerve daisy & fleabane daisy wild in the yard plus other natives & herbs I'd be happy to share or swap.

Hi Bluegirl. I wont put you through the trouble. Was hoping you were in the metroplex and knew of a nursery. I appreciate your generosity. But Ill check some of the nurseries around here when this crazy ice goes away.
Thanks so much...Shops

Years back when I traveled through, I'd hit Calloways--a chain, but they had a good selection--are they still around? Ft. Worth is bound to have some good local places.

If not, hit me up for some & I'll send.

Shops,

I don't know where you are at in the DFW area but I know that Puckett's carries Blackfoot daisies for sure, as well as other fantastic perennials that are well-suited for our area.
