Please let me know about these ladies

Last year I planted Jeanne D'Arc, Maggie, Mrs. B.R. Cant and Mrs. Dudley Cross approximately 3' apart. This year I've already figured out that Maggie needs more property and the others are growing too but just not as aggressively as Maggie. Since I'm going to move Maggie should I also move the other ladies. I'm not certain just how large they will end up being. (I'm in sunny/very hot desert southwest.) Any opinions? TIA

AH! You've just made the same mistake I made the better part of 20 years ago.
What you will end up with is a solid thicket of roses, with their canes intertwining. (It's actually rather pretty.)

If a huge thicket was not your intent, move them now.

The saving grace of my "thicket" was the fact that Mrs. B.R. Cant, who has been in place for severak years, was not measuring up to the overwhelming dimensions she's supposed to reach.
This spring, however, she has passed her personal "tipping point," and is now expanding at a rapid rate.
I do believe she is going to smother her nearest neighbor, Catherine Mermet, but I say -- let the best rose win.

I suggest that you visit the Vintage Gardens website, and check the mature proportions of these cvs.

Mrs. Cant, for instance, should be not only very tall, but very broad. Mrs. Dudley Cross only slightly less-so. Remember that mature Tea Roses can be like this:

Push 'em back, push 'em back, waaaaay back! I would imagine Mrs BR will get 8' minimum across in your warm area unless water is an issue maybe. She's supposed to get that big here. Mine is only 1 yr old. Maggie is supposed to be sizable (at least 5' to 6' across), too. Mine's only in the ground a couple months. Unfortunately, Linda, I see digging in your future.

Some of us are still digging and moving. If you get them in bands or 1 gal, as I do most of mine, they are so tiny and look so lonesome and even 3' apart looks too much. And then the next year you start wondering and in two years you're going ohmygod I better move her before I cant. Take a look at Countryside's website tour...

My Mrs. B.R. Cant is about 6'x6', four years old, and gets very little summer water. We have hot summers. It's best if you can find out how Teas tend to grow in your area, but I wouldn't count on this one staying small.

My well hydrated Mrs. B.R. Cant, 3 years old, is around 6' by 12'. It gained about half of that width in an explosive real estate grab last year. For the first couple of seasons it was healthy and vigorous but didn't seem to be overly aggressive.

I believe mine is presently about 5 ft x 6+ ft -- but that it is presently beginning its "explosive real estate grab."

My Mrs Dudley Cross would like to be 8 ft tall by at least 6 ft wide.

Because of space limitations, with pruning I keep her at an average size of 6 ft tall by 5 ft wide. She tolerates pruning, but doesn't like it if you cut too much off. She much prefers a light pruning over a hard one. She's a sweetheart of a rose.

hmmm-i was planning to give the buxom Mrs. BR Cant 10' but sounds like i may need to rethink that..

Randy, you had a lot to do with getting Mrs. Dudley Cross here. The first one was so wonderful, I ordered 3 more. It is the tea I have the most of here - 4 plants.
