| Does anyone know of a North American source for this old Ayreshire rambler? I ordered it from Eurodesert some years ago, but when the plant finally bloomed, after Eurodesert had closed, it turned out to be Wedding Day. HMF only shows European sources. Wedding Day is a humongous, thorny monster. North country gardeners looking for an impenetrable barrier like Mermaid, to protect their vegetable gardens, might want to consider Wedding Day. I don't dislike WD, but it doesn't have the ethereal beauty of the Ayreshires. |

| In my garden Wedding Day is actually overpowering Mermaid. I was given a rose labeled Duc de Constantine but I'm told it is more likely R. macrantha. |
