| I ordered eight roses from Vintage, all of them new to me, and wonder if anyone has grown the ones listed below in a similar environment and could advise me as to height and width so I'll have a little better idea of where to shoehorn them in. None of them will have as much space as I'd like but for now it will have to suffice. I'd like to complement Vintage on accommodating me in substituting Pink Rosette for SdlM, practically at the last minute, since I'd decided the smaller the rose the better, so I'll now have two of PP, which is fine after I'd heard what a great rose it is. | The only one of these that I grow here in zone 9 in the SF No Bay is Little White Pet - delightful rose. I have had it for 20 years, and two others for about 10 years. None of them have gotten bigger than 1 - 2 ft tall, and the same width. They bloom all Summer, and don't seem to get any diseases. Jackie |

White Pet in Valencia, CA, grew up and through Yves Piaget. With very little pruning over the past five or six years, it achieved a good four by four feet, filling the awkward, open growth Yves loves to generate. The effect was like a huge bouquet of Yves, rounded out with White Pet like Baby's Breath. I whacked it back to about 18" this year to clean it out. White Pet has responded by exploding into growth in every direction. Of course, due to climate and a variety of other factors, YMMV. Kim

LWP about 4' here as well. Also suckers pretty good, plenty of plants to share.

I have 'Heirloom' which has been growing to only about 3 feet high and 2 feet wide perhaps because it has been in almost complete shade. I recently moved it to a full sun location. It is one of the few HTs I inherited when we bought our house that I chose to move to a better location rather than SP. That is because despite the very shady location it bloomed very nicely with a lovely scent and had absolutely clean foliage. Not my favorite color of rose and not my favorite class of rose but, hey, how I could I not come to love it? I hope you love yours as well. Forgot to mention, mine is grafted and probably 15-20 years old. Anne

We grew Heirloom years ago. Like Anne, we saw it at 3-ft. or so tall, but it was a bit wider here. I think if you grew it right, I'd think of it as being a version of 'Iceberg,' and treat it accordingly. It's sort of a Hybrid Musk, y'know? Jeri

Oh, sorry. Didn't notice Chaucer. We had it, budded on Multiflora. It got to maybe 18-inches. LONG gone. Jeri

Thank you all for the very helpful info. I'm going to assume that White Pet here will be larger, more along the lines of 4 x 4 feet. Kim, the combination of LWP and YP sounds wonderful. My YP before its demise by gopher was also one lanky and awkward plant. But oh, those flowers! It seems I won't need a large space for Chaucer. Mine is own-root and hopefully won't be too wimpy, but time will tell. Ingrid

Interesting comments re 'Heirloom.' I will look at her differently. She is definitely healthy as a horse in my garden. Anne

I'm especially interested in the height and width of Mlle. de Sombreuil and Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux. I want to be sure to find them a large enough space since teas can be such space hogs. I did have the idea that MdS was more on the small side. I hope I'm right. Ingrid

Well, this is N. CA, but after 8 years or so, Rhodologue Jules Gravereaux is just short of 6 ft. tall and about 7 ft. wide here. Of the more mature teas, it is one of the smaller ones in my yard... ~ Debbie
