I am wondering if anyone is growing FKD and what this rose is like to grow in 9A or 9B, No CA, with some (a little) coastal influence. (I understand that this was once the most popular white rose in the world. Source: McCann, Sean. The Rose. Stackpole Books, 1993.)

Thanks,

Larry

We grow it in 9B Florida, so a somewhat different climate than yours despite the USDA zone. For us, it's a very large shrub or moderately small climber. Repeats decently once the plant matures. We do have to spray it for blackspot here.

I have it, not a very hardy plant, but the blooms are a startling white, but start off as pinkish buds. Mine seems to want to be a climber, if it survived this winter.

Dr. Manners,

Many thanks for the good information.

Buford,

Thanks to you, too.

Larry
