I've grown both and would choose 'Mrs. B.R. Cant' in a heartbeat because of her uniquely enchanting fragrance. (No other rose I know of smells like MBRC, except, surprisingly, a climbing tea, "Florence Bower's Pink Tea", a found rose.) She has fairly stout stems and well-formed flowers and I frequently cut her blooms for indoors. "Angel's Camp" was a martyr to powdery mildew here and met its demise from a malady that looked a lot like fire blight a few springs ago (first and only time I have seen that on a rose). Though nice enough, its scent and flowers didn't make me swoon the way those of MBRC do and I never really felt impelled to bring them into the house.

Most teas don't make great cut flowers because of their nodding habit, but Mrs. BR Cant will give you plenty of blooms so you can probably get a great bouquet.

Angel's Camp Tea didn't seem to hold up in the heat as well as Mrs. B.R. Cant and I like the more cupped and stuffed with petals look of the latter rose. And of course the Mrs. does make a longer-lasting and better cut flower and I believe it also lasts longer on the bush. Ingrid

So I managed to get Mrs. B R Cant, monsieur tillier and a shrub devoniensis. Slightly annoyed I don't have room for more. Peace and Catherine mermet in particular.

Admiring the tender, delicate coloring. Folly

Yeah, they are so much better in person. Not white at all. I hadn't even considered devoniensis till i saw it sitting there dripping in perfect flowers.

Glad you got those roses - they are all among my most favorite roses! Laura |
