| Hi, I just returned from visiting Sacramento to attend the Open Garden at the Old City Cemetery. It was great and I would definitely recommend making the trip to anyone who loves old roses. A big thank you to all of the volunteers involved. The roses were lovely, Anita's tour interesting and educational, and the rose plant sale had many beautiful selections. Thank you Jeri for putting together the catalog. I came home with Bev's Mystery Tea, Lady Roberts, Copperopolis Bar, and Mrs. Keay's Pink Noisette. Usually a lurker here, but wanted to express my gratitude to all. :-) Priscilla |

| I am disappointed that I couldn't make it to the Sac City Cemetery for Open Garden this year. I wanted to pick up a Penelope and a Reve D'Or if they had them. I am writing, Priscilla, to say that I picked up a Copperopolis Bar at last year's sale. Mine is still in a pot but I need to plant it soon. I met the discoverer and propagator of this rose at the cemetery sale but I can't remember her name now. I'd like to know how big it gets as this will help me to determine where to plant mine. There isn't even a listing in HMF for this one yet. To be honest, mine hasn't bloomed for me yet either. Either it is a once-bloomer or my specimen which is very small was just not ready to bloom up to this point. I think I was told it was red. Can you fill in any blanks for me? Annabeth |

| Hi Annabeth, I didn't see Penelope or Reve D'Or for sale. There are several Reve's planted throughout the cemetery, and they were in full bloom and very beautiful. And big. I would like one too! RE: Copperopolis, there is a photo in the Catalogue for this year's plant sale, and it's a deep pink color. Very pretty. Jeri describes it as "Vigorous as all get-out....almost never out of bloom." Sounds big! I was going to say that yours probably hasn't bloomed because it's too small yet - but I just double-checked and my small rose has 2 blooms already. Hmmm, I wonder what is up with yours?? | Thanks Priscilla! I'll check the catalog that Jeri put out. My plant is just one stem only about 8 inches long. I'll just keep watching it and hoping. |
