Welcome back, Jeff, and thanks for the picture, which shows the same rose I have. Yours is obviously much more mature, and the flower even shows a few more petals than my very young plant. How tall and wide is your plant, and how long have you had it? You don't show a zone after your name, and I'm wondering in what area you're growing this rose.

Hi Ingrid, I garden up in Tehachapi, CA, zone 7 according to Sunset. We have all four seasons, but our winter was quite mild this year, really quite dry. Things are getting warmer up here every year. I'm concerned about water usage with the water shortage we're having. I think the warmer climate has allowed my teas to thrive though, including this Souvenir. de Mdme. Léonie Viennot, which really surprised me this year with its vigorous growth and floriferousness.

Jeff, I once visited Tehachipi; it seems like a very nice area, unless it's changed a lot since then. Suburban sprawl has ruined so many formerly beautiful areas, for the profit of a few and the detriment of many. That is a lovely rose, although I understand it doesn't rebloom a great deal.

I've noticed the same warming trend, although in my case the heat is just getting hotter, if that makes sense. Here's hoping that the promise of a rainy winter will be fulfilled.
