Waiting for my email from Vintage. Pins and Needles!

I sent my email to Vintage as soon as my computer clock said 7pm.

Still haven't received any confirmation. Have you?

Now I'm worried that the email went astray.

Biting my nails,
Diane

I think he's probably completely and totally overwhelmed.

On top of that, they offered two ways to place an order.

What happens if someone sent an email order and someone else sent a web order for the same rose at the same time?

I know bellegallica! But someone else posted today that they received a confirmation. I wonder how many orders came in at 7pm exactly?

People were complaining that the website was overloaded and not taking orders at the beginning. I assume it boils down to seconds as far as timing goes.

Yes, Diane, I got a confirmation email right away. It was an auto response I'm sure. Whether I get my order of 2 Mableton Agrippina I shall see especially since I wasn't able to get my payment info to them because of the messed up phone number.

Anne, did you order via email or through the website? Gregg extended the time for payment info. You should be able to get through now.

Thanks,
Diane

RE: Waiting for my email from Vintage. Pins and Needles!

The last email I received said to hold off on calling in with payment info until you received confirmation that you actually got the roses you requested.

I was one of the ones who couldn't get through on the website, so I resorted to email, which was time stamped 7:02--so that was, I'm sure, two minutes too late. C'est la vie.

I have only received the confirmation I initially received at 7 on the dot for placing an order on their site. I'll be anxiously awaiting what falls my way, but whatever does will be fine by me.

I sent an email order because the website wasn't working. This was about 9:30 that night. Then I got a confirmation that my email order was received. I haven't heard anything since.

Okay Vintage Rose-a-holics...time to fess up.

Just how many times have you checked your email to see if and what you "won"?

:)

Anne, now I am concerned. I sent an email order at 7pm and have never received a confirmation.

Kippy, I lost count.

Diane,

I could be wrong, but I think the "confirmation" that Anne is talking about was an automated response to sending an email. It contained information about the sale. However, everyone who sent an email would have gotten that response regardless of whether or not they were the first in line for their choices.

Going by what happened with their first sale, we still have to wait for another email saying whether or not we actually "won" our roses.

Diane, do you think it could have gone to your SPAM folder? I believe it was the email that contained the wrong phone number for calling in with payment information.

Hopefully Anne will chime in and tell us what exactly her confirmation email said.

Diane,
I didn't receive a confirmation either to my email order. I'm sure I was too late, but regardless...no email.
I REALLY wanted the HT Pink Pearl that Masha blogged about here. I hope whoever gets it, is able to offer some cuttings at some point.

Perhaps the system was bogged down from too many emails/website orders at the same time? Disliking competition for purchases - no black friday scrambling for me- so I didn't email until 7:20. and did receive an email order acknowledgement. Then I checked out the website and ordered there for good measure but at twenty minutes after the rush who knows what was still actually available although the website allowed me to order 5 roses..

Hopefully we will all find out today and the time will be closer to the two days to sort out instead of the six days posted somewhere. And yes it is embarrassing the number of times the mail is getting checked here!

Hi everyone,

I wanted to relieve my paranoia so I emailed Gregg.

Seems that only web orders get an email acknowledgement of receipt of an order. Orders sent via email don't get an acknowledgement.

He DID receive my order, hooray! But I probably won't know til tomorrow what if any roses I will get.

There were over 600 orders!

I need to stop checking, watched pots take so long to boil

Glad to hear that they got so many orders.

Great! I'm glad you got a little peace of mind back, and I hope you get all or at least something on your order.

600 orders!

bellegallica, I honestly don't know what I'd do if I did get all of them. I ordered assuming that some would fall by the wayside. Thanks for your good wishes.

Sorry to hear that Kippy. Depending on what you ordered, if you still want them, and shipping costs check out Roses Unlimited, long ago roses, and rogue valley roses among others. I have received beautiful plants from all of them and with Vintage closing and the rough winter weather, I think it is more important than ever to support our rose nurseries. Some of them have have extensive selections.

RE: Waiting for my email from Vintage. Pins and Needles!

I ordered one rose at 7:20. The truth is I'm fine whether I get it or not. I just wanted to be part of the fun!

vettin. I actually picked only the roses that could not be found anywhere else. So I hope the winner has great success and will share cuttings I still have a list of wish roses and a July birthday so I will be ordering from RVR, Heirloom or Burlington anyway.

I hit send a few seconds after the clock said 7 :)

 o
RE: Waiting for my email from Vintage. Pins and Needles!

I did not receive the 'none' email so at least I know I will get one out of the15 or so on my list.

I hit send a few milliseconds before 7pm and my email does say 6:59, so I hope I received some if the rare ones but I probably got the more on varieties on my list, which will still be great. :)
