 o
second day of scorching sun and dry heat

My memory must be failing or something because I distinctively remember Teasing Georgia to be able to stand up to the sun and heat pretty well, and the same goes to Memorial Day, well they did last year anyway.

This morning I stepped outside to water the roses and found all the flowers on TG and MD fried to a brittle crisp, and so did many of the spring flush on Eden! :( Frustrating! And so is trying to post using a damn phone!

Of course i got sunburned for being outside for less than 30 mins, without sun block! Picked myself a few flowers though...should really pick more because it will be hot and dry again tomorrow.

Sorry for the wild rant... Have a good one ladies and gents.

Thanks for sharing your lovely bouquet but do be careful of that sun!

prickles, the same thing has happened to me! SdlM for instance, stands up very well to the heat in summer, but last night I looked in disgust at the fried blooms on this rose, truly ugly. My theory is that it's the sudden transition from cooler to hotter weather the roses can't handle. They're not acclimated and dry out. I'm afraid to go out there and see what it looks like tonight after another scorching day.

The blooms you saved for the house are gorgeous, though!

Sorry to hear that. Frustrating I'm sure. I hope the heat will abate quickly. Here in the East Coast, we're fully expecting that after this horrible winter and cold spring, we will probably be heading into early heat, like you are having too. *sigh*
