sacramento open garden catalog!

Two days later than I had hoped, but the catalog for the upcoming (April 12) rose sale is now available.

It's up on the Gold Coast Heritage Roses Group Website:
http://www.goldcoastrose.org/

It will shortly (if not already) be up on the Heritage Roses Group website:
http://www.theheritagerosesgroup.org/

You should shortly be able to find it on the cemetery garden website: http://www.cemeteryrose.org/

I hope to see lots and lots of you at the Open Garden on April 12 -- and I hope you enjoy this year's catalog.

Thank you, Jeri. She's too polite to say it, but the delays are due to me working on a tribute to our curator emeritus, Barbara Oliva. I wanted it to be perfect and nearly drove Jeri crazy in the process! Check out the catalog to read it, and to drool over the roses our volunteers have propagated, and the descriptions and photos that Jeri has assembled.

Do any of you know how to delete duplicate postings? I seem to have caught that disease! Sorry -
Anita

AFAIK, Anita, all you can do is EDIT POST, then delete it, and say "DUPLICATE"

Anita, I love the tribute to Barbara. It was worth waiting for. Jeri, I think you've outdone yourself. And I found a few roses that I think I can't live without.

Good to see you, Jeri! The catalog is perfect! Ms. Oliva sounds like a treasure! Wish I could come...

What a wonderful tribute and catalog.

If you take a Hearst Castle tour, the docents will tell the story of Mr Hearst receiving an auction house catalog and simply writing "Yes" on the cover. Meaning he wanted it all.

So

Yes

Now if only I had Mr Hearst's checkbook from those days......

Seil . . .
Kippy . . .

I would really love to see both of you there. I would take an hour off, grab a dog, and we could go for a walk . . .

Superbly done, Jeri, with wonderful historic roses, some of which I would dearly love to have.

This year we had made the firm resolution, and even hotel reservations, to attend, dragging our two aged dogs along with us. So what happens? We found a beautiful Maine Coon cat, the one breed we had ever wanted after our wonderful Casey passed away, in urgent need of a home. Foiled again! She needs TLC and stability more than I need to see that wonderful rose garden. Sigh.....

Oh Darn Ingrid. Maybe next year.

RE: sacramento open garden catalog!

I am in the same position as Ingrid.

I had planned my drive, picked my hotel, told a local friend and then....

Mom had her other cataract surgery, she is doing fine but as part of the screening we discovered her heart is slowing down. She tends to worry about some things to the point it makes her sick, that is possibly a factor in the heart issues. And I am blaming the anesthesia, but she is having some memory issues that are worse. But I still thought she would be okay for me to go.

Then my son said they were going to Sac the next weekend and might need me to babysit there....Well I would miss the people and the sale, but the roses would still be there. Only now that conference is over booked and they did not get to go after all.

Then mom calls and has a tooth ache, long story short, but she had 4 lower front teeth pulled for new dentures....

Maybe things will work out next week and I can still go, but for now I ordered one of the roses I wanted from the catalog just so I could feel like I was there.

I'm so sorry. :-( Any chance that your son could help out on Open Garden weekend?
