Lately it seems that all I can do is think of my roses. They are severely pruned after the rough winter, fertilized, mulched, and watered. Now it is just time to wait, which is so hard to do. I think this quote sums up the hope and promise of gardening: "To create a garden is to search for a better world. In our effort to improve on nature, we are guided by a vision of paradise. Whether the result is a horticultural masterpiece or only a modest vegetable patch, it is based on the expectation of a glorious future. This hope for the future is at the heart of all gardening." - Marina Schinz Is anyone else brimming with excitement at the spring season?

That's a wonderful statement and is very much what gardening is about for me. Since we're having heat in the 90's it's difficult to think of this as spring but I'm grateful for every bit of beauty to be found in the garden. Ingrid

Ingrid, our high temp today was 50 degrees! And that feels positively balmy after the winter we had! Lol.

Bonny - I fully understand your excitement and anticipation of spring. It seems that I was in that state not too long ago. My roses peaked in their spring flush Easter week and they brought me much joy this year. You have the spring season to look forward to and I envy you that ! But, as gardeners, we do indeed always have things to look forward to. My garden is new - begun last year - and I have new beds to put in. I am researching drought tolerant natives, and am very much excited by the possibilities. Do share pictures when your roses bloom. Jo
