I saw this monster of a rose while out walking today. It was enormous and apeared to be very old, and measured about 10 ft x 10ft. There were a scattered handful of blooms on it still--so it already had its spring flush, and there were some green and oange colored hips. Here are some pics I snapped with my phone. Would love to know the name of this rose. Any ideas?

Here is another pic of some leaves. Also there wasn't a thorn to be found on any of the canes--and those tenebrous thickets shown on the pic. all canes!

That is flat-out drop-dead gorgeous. It reminds me very much of a faded 'Alchymist', which is a flat-out drop-dead gorgeous rose that can get 10x10, though 'Alchymist' is apricot in color. Wonder, does it fade to pink, 'Alchymist'?

Thank you hoovb... I wonder if there is indeed a pink alchemist. Unfortunately I could not reach up to verify its fragrance because the flowers were on top of the canes. But I carefully scanned and checked and noticed the canes were thornless. And the rose looks very healthy. Here is another pic of a less opened flower--about the same shade of pink as the older bloom.
