L'Ingenue

I picked up L'Ingenue from second to last Vintage release this year. It was a purchase of opportunity so I'm a bit perplexed about where to plant it. HMF calls it compact. What does that mean? How bad does it sucker? Will it take a bit of morning shade? Knockout performer? Nice looking shrub and leaves?

Mine is over five years old and it has not suckered at all. I really wish it would because I want more of it for myself and to share! Very nice shrub and leaves. I wouldn't call it a knockout in terms of bloom quantity but it has a really gorgeous flower. Mine is in full sun

I think the largest it got was about 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide. I transplanted it last spring so I pruned it back then so it's a bit smaller now.

Mine blooms for WEEKS and WEEKS. It is also around four feet tall and maybe three feet wide. All in all a nice gallica for the front of a bed of roses.
