I believe this is on May 18th, in El Cerrito, CA. It is a really cool celebration - people bring cut roses of almost every type of old rose (thousands are displayed), so you can see them next to each other and find out what they look like. Auctions of rare old roses, and all sorts of vendors of rosy things, and FOOD! My favorite part is the "mystery table", because I always seem to have mystery roses I am trying to identify. You can bring a jar with cut flowers, leaves, hips, etc. and put it on this table, and people will look at it and try to identify it. Many people who attend are true experts - I have gotten several roses identified this way (one of which was "out of commerce" in North America, and was identified by the tea roses ladies from Australia at a prior Celebration). This year I will be bringing 'Schmidt's Smooth Yellow' (to see if anyone agrees that it might be the lost rose "Eugenie Lamesch"), my version of the Thing of Many Names (which I have come to the conclusion may not be a ToMN at all, but perhaps "La Reine"), and an old old mystery perhaps tea which has been growing in my garden for we think almost 100 years. The original plant and my new rooted cutting baby both bloomed in April, so I have no blooms to bring. However, I was over at my SIL's house the other day, and realized that she has one - I gave her a rooted cutting over 10 years ago. Hers was 6 ft by 6 ft and blooming madly, so I am hoping it will still have at least one bloom on it for me to bring. Jackie

I plan to be there as well. I'll be looking around for Gardenweb friends. Anyone who doesn't already know me by sight, look for curly red hair. Folly

See you all there!

I now have a brief catalog of the HRG Silent Auction roses. I could give you just names, but descriptions with photos are much better, yes? Later today, it should be available on the HRG and Gold Coast HRG websites -- and I will post here, when it is up. Meanwhile, it is in PDF format -- so . . . If you message me, I will be happy to send it as an attachment. Here are just two of the roses offered. Jeri Jennings,
