Many people have collected roses in the California Gold country cemeteries. Don't know who first collected it. But it is growing in a cemetery in Angels Camp. I've seen the 'mother' plant, it is in shade and not impressive at all. I would not be surprised if the mother plant disappears at some point in the future. The plant is growing in a plot for the Romaggi family and was likely planted there years ago. Don't know if anyone has a tentative ID. There is not one that I have heard proposed.

Thanks for the info. That explains the two names. (I thought maybe it had been found in more than one location.)
