Marie Pavie & Marie Daly

Does anyone out there who grows both Maries but prefers the pinker sport?

I'm not trying to pit one against the other. I'm just curious if there are any who like Daly more than Pavie...

I definitely like the pinker color. Both are good roses for our area, but I prefer the richer color. Lou

I prefer Pavie, but Daley is very nice. I'd recommend partial shade for both, at least in hot to pretty warm climates. I've grown them in afternoon shade in PDX. Better color and longer lasting blooms. Both are very nice and I like Daley almost as much as Pavie. Useful, modest size, flexible, healthy, thornless, sweet fragrance--both. Pavie seems slightly more fragrant to my nose, but that could be imagination. Carol

I have Daly. The leaves have a tendency to get crispy in dry hot weather as do the flowers. I will likely shovel them. They may not get crispy in a humid zone 9.

My Daly is in morning sun, filtered afternoon sun and is growing very well - no fried leaves or bloom so far. Don't have Pavie but would get it if I could find room.

Ooo, Judith. Pavie is good in TX. You might have to find room! :-) Carol

I have both and like them both. If I had to pick one though, I'd probably go with Daly simply because white is not my favorite color in a rose. Both are excellent for me though.

Thanks, everyone, for the input. I ordered Daly yesterday so I'll soon see if I like it as much--or more--than Pavie.

One thing I've always found curious--Marie Daly is on the Earthkind list, but Pavie is not.

Belle Gallica, that fact has puzzled me, too.
