Lt. Pink Eglantine from SJHRG / Jill? Tessiess?

One of the plants I received from my last Vintage order was the Light Pink Eglantine from San Jose Heritage Rose Garden.

I'd like to hear about it from people who have it. Height, width, repeat, suckering, fragrance etc.

Thanks,
Diane

I planted mine in up in the hills north of my house in a wild area next to a seasonal stream. It was pretty much left to its own devices, as in not fertilized and not watered at all once established. Very difficult to stand next to it, once it, and the vegetation adjacent matured (everything in the area, including all my ramblers, had burned to the ground following the Grand Prix Fire in 2003). This rose grew to be very large, towers over my head--I'd estimate a good 10 feet tall at least. Hasn't suckered noticeably, but it is flanked on either side by exuberant eucalyptus trees and is in a fair amount of shade. Grows in a vase shape, although I'm sure that is encouraged by the trees on either side. I can't recall the fragrance as I've only rarely gotten close enough in recent years to smell any of the flowers.;) A very heat and drought tolerant rose--much better than the nearby Mermaid.

Thanks Melissa. Definitely a rose for the wild side. Do you remember if there was any rebloom?
