| I stopped using Mills Magic at some point. I have a very large container filled with Mills Magic -- it may be 5-7 years old. Do you think there would be any bad side effects of using it now? The problem I have had with Mills Magic is that I have to clear the mulch to get it into the ground. Year after year I have pulled weeds, pruned the roses, and added more mulch. Then the big tub of Mills Magic looks at me. It has begun taking on its place as a big ugly ornament or "ugly sculpture" in my garden. It is way too heavy to move, and would be difficult to throw away. Do you think it could be harmful since it is so old? Thanks, |

| I have used MMM after having it for 8 -9 years. It did not affect my roses in any way except it had lost its potency. I remember the first time I used MMM and what a big difference it made on my roses. But after more than 8 years, I don't think it made a difference at all. But it did no harm to my roses either. | If it has been kept dry, all the nutrients are still there. If you don't want to move the mulch, you can go ahead and scatter it at normal rates over old mulch before applying mew mulch. Some of the N in the blood meal is soluble and will reach the roots. The rest of the nutrients will become available over the years as that mulch layer rots into compost. I would also use a modest amount of 10-10-10 or something else that is readily soluble. |

| Its potency is because it has certain chemicals. Those chemicals didn't just get up and walk away over the years. |
