My Little White Pet is a trouper in my hot hot summer heat. I planted it as a band this winter and it is healthy and blooming in the heat when pretty much no other rose is blooming. I was thinking that due to this rose's ancestry it wouldn't like the heat, but not! I planted it because I'd heard good things about it not this forum. I'd love to hear your experience of this rose in the heat and pictures, if you have them. Sorry, I don't have any pictures as I struggle with the picture posting process and avoid the ordeal if I can.

I have three Little White Pet bushes, the oldest of which is over 20 years old. I love them. No spray, and no diseases, and of course the blooms are amazingly perfect. One of my favorite things about them is that they actually stay 2-3 feet high and wide in my garden, where every other rose I grow seems to be 2 to 3 times larger than advertised. As I type this I am taking a break from pruning a bush of 'Rosette DeLizy', which HMF says is "3 to 6 ft". However, I had to get an 8 foot ladder out to prune mine, and it was at least 9 feet tall and 6 feet wide when I started. Same thing with all of my roses, except those in pots. LWP is the ONLY one (other than miniatures) that can be counted on to stay small here in my warm weather garden. Jackie

I have 4 LWP, 3 were received as bands and planted during the Fall. I received one from R.U.'s sale and planted it about 2 weeks ago. The 3 from the Fall receive a lot of sun, are very healthy, and covered with blooms more often than not. The other is in partial shade for many hours throughout the day, has not bloomed, but is pushing out new leaves. I really like this little rose. Lynn

I need to get this rose! Does it root well or is it better to buy as a band?
