Question:

When listing parentage: "named variety" x seedling
or seedling x seedling? Is it because the breeder chooses not to identify 1 of the crosses? Or is it unknown?

It could be either. It may well be an un named seedling for which parents are not known, or are chosen not to divulge. It could be a deliberate attempt to maintain the information as "proprietary". The information could have been lost. Only the breeder knows for sure. Kim
