Cannot Find Malcolm's Mottisfont Thread

Malcom Manners had a thread here with wonderful pictures of the Mottisfont trip, of which Anita also has a thread. It had lots of gorgeous pictures of gardens and also of people and the various functions they attended (most seemed to involve eating!) Did I dream the whole thing or has it really vanished? I wanted very much to look at everything again and couldn't believe that it was gone. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The pictures made me feel that I was actually there and I so enjoyed them. I'm very puzzled....

Hi Ingrid,

Look about 2/3 of the way down on this thread.

Here is a link that might be useful: Mottisfont

Many thanks, rosefolly. I have it bookmarked now so I won't lose it again. Couldn't have done it without you!

We did eat an awful lot. I plan to put together a food photo album - along with a delphinium album - and, and, and!

Cream teas with fresh baked scones and clotted cream, I miss you. Afternoon tea breaks with cakes, too. I also came home with a serious hankering for hard cider. Sigh.

Oh, the food. Once upon a time people scorned the food of the British Isles, but you could not do that now. We had so many wonderful meals. Lamb, venison, and all sorts of fish were simply amazing.

But really, let's talk dessert. Scones with clotted cream, heavenly. I normally do not eat any grains at all or much dairy other than yogurt at breakfast, but I gave myself permission to indulge while I was traveling. So well worth it!

My other favorite treat is also something that it is good I cannot easily get here. We fell in love with Sticky Toffee Pudding.

It really is a very good thing we are back home again where these pleasures, while available if you go searching, are not conveniently at hand.

Folly, I've made Sticky Toffee Pudding and it is indeed very yummy. Plenty of recipes of it on the internet if you'd like to indulge yourself here. It's not at all difficult to make. We won't talk about the caloric content since that might ruin the enjoyment, but then it's not something you'd eat every day.
