I got this rose this Spring, and it's still in its pot and growing well. I noticed on HelpMeFind that there are no pictures of this rose uploaded, yet a few people list it in their gardens' inventories. Anyone who has been growing it for a while please reply here about your experiences with it, and share pics if you have them. And please consider uploading pics to the rather empty HelpMeFind page for this rose. Thanks in advance! :-) ~Christopher

I've grown the rose twice and then lost it as it didn't take well (understatement) to transplanting. I'm really unhappy that I didn't get another from Vintage, but they only had the one plant on the last sale. I love the fragrance of the flowers and the healthy green foliage. Both my plants established well in acidic red clays. I thought both were going to transplant...... Think of a tallish vase shaped shrub. Fairly dense growth. Would be excellent habitat for the small birds we need more of in our gardens.

I've seen it growing at Vintage. It was a seedling that established itself in a half wine barrel and sent out roots through the bottom. Small clustered white flowers. I had a band at one time but it wasn't happy for me, probably not enough sun. Diane

I've had mine 2 years, and it's growing very, very well. Very healthy plant, about waist high now. It's been a little stingy with flowering so far, but is getting a little better. Fairly late flowering--it didn't start blooming until the once bloomers were done. We've had mild winters since I got it, so no telling how it will do if it's really cold.

I loved the rose in the Vintage home garden. I was thrilled when it became available. Their's was about 8 feet tall and five feet wide for a while but it's been cut back and hasn't suffered from it. My band grew swiftly and is in the ground now. It has a charm that I find really attractive and that musk smell is my favorite. Mine's too small yet for a photo.

I'm reviving this thread because I received an email from Rose Petals Nursery that something I had on my wish-list has become available. While scrolling through the site, I noticed that 'Reverend Seidel' is available for purchase there. So anyone who thought they missed out on getting this rose now that Vintage Gardens is closed will have another chance. :-) ~Christopher

Thanks Christopher I saw that yesterday when I was cruising their website. I already have it so I did not buy another one. One thing I can state most clearly, watch out for the PRICKLES. When weeding around the base it really helps to wear gloves. The prickles are VERY sharp and draw blood much better than nearly any rose I have.
