Hi, Last summer we inherited a cutting of a family Rose bush. It has always been called "the LeBaron Rose" (which is the name of the family that owns it). But we don't know much about it. It smells very strong and sweet and the flowers are medium sized. Also, the branches seem to grow long. It came from eastern Massachusetts sometime before 1925. We dug our piece up from Sudbury MA where it seemed to grow pretty well without much attention in dry and acidic soil. I hope someone can help, Thanks

Beautiful rose, medium size is a bit vague, can you say how many inches?

The bloom reminds me of 'Apothecary's Rose', but it's hard to say if it is without photos of leaves, prickles, etc.

New Fruit -- Can you get photos of stems, and images of whole leaves with all of the leaflets (top and bottom)? Folks will also like to know whether it repeats its bloom, or blooms only once, in the spring.

Thanks for the help. I am posting two more photos. This was the best I could get with my not so good camera. The flower is about 3". I hope this is helpful.

Does this rose bloom only once, spring or summer? Or does it have repeated flushes of bloom?

Hi Jerijen, This is the first year we have had it and it was planted last August (not a good time, but the family member was dying and wanted to give it to us then). It almost died, but came back this year. I live in the Berkshires of western MA and we are about 1500 feet up, so our growing season is short. This rose just started flowering at the beginning of July. So I am not sure yet if it will bloom again. thanks, Alia
