Buck's Bright Melody

Do any of you grow Buck's Bright Melody in the high heat and humidity of the Southeast? I would like to know about resistance to blackspot, frequency of bloom and vase life of blooms. My rose growing space is limited because of so much shade. I would like to pick what will do well in my "no-spray" garden. I already grow Buck's Prarie Sunrise, P. Harvest, Western Sunset, Polonaise, Earth Song and Pearlie Mae. Thank you for you assistance in helping me decide.

RE: Buck's Bright Melody

hi, Sunny,
I am guessing that you are in North Carolina?

I checked this rose on helpmefind, the rose data base and noticed that Roses Unlimited in SC as well as Chamblee Roses in Tyler, Texas carry it, as well as several other rose vendors. My guess is that it does well in the south, just based on the vendors that carry it.

You might email Roses Unlimited and ask their opinion of it as no one here seems to grow it. I also noticed a picture of it on helpmefind posted by a gardener in Arkansas; you might try contacting her through her contact information on hmf and see what kind of a response you get. This woman has a beautiful garden.
