York Street Yellow

I bought this one from High Country Roses this spring.

Do any posters have experience with it? It was found growing in a yard in York Street in Denver. Denver is zone 5, but it may have been in a sheltered spot. John Starnes speaks highly of it.

So far it is not very vigorous, so it may spend the winter indoors growing roots.

nastarana,
I found an old thread on this rose; it sounds quite wonderful. You may have seen this too. Interesting that it does so well in Florida and Colorado, I thought.

Here is a link that might be useful: old thread

RE: York Street Yellow

Thank you for the link. Large yellow hips! I am waiting to see those. So far not much growth and no buds. I think I may have snapped off a bud. I think I will plant in a larger pot and allow no flowers at all this season. I came across a possible identity, but I can't remember the name. It was a German yellow climber, possibly from Noack, which is a repeat blooming seedling of a once blooming Brownell yellow climber. I have Goldregen, from Noack, which is lookinhg very nice, and much more vigorous than York Street. I hope it will survive the winter with burlap cover.
